The concept of Work-Shop Makery is really quite simple, as a creative I rent out a space inside the store for a small weekly fee. After chatting with Paul who manages the shop, he suggested a top spot on a shelving unit. I was able to design the space myself, brand it and display whatever jewellery I would like. The BEST thing about Work-Shop Makery is that they don’t take any commission on sales (just that little shelf renting fee), so all the money from the pieces sold comes straight back to me.
The shop displays and creatives change regularly so you’ll always find something new. I have just started selling instore and plan to go in at least once a month to refresh the display and add new items, so there will be new and shiny things for customers to browse.
The shop is full of amazing gift ideas and it really is a privilege to be alongside all the super creative people. As a designer maker, it’s a great place to showcase my Jewellery making it easy for customers to pop in and get last minute gifts without having to buy online and wait for postage. (don’t forget to ask Paul about gift wrapping too, we have a sneaky little box behind the counter full up of tissue, cute stickers, pottles, tins and bags which the staff can pop your Jewellery choice into).
